How Meditation Has Changed My Life

Every week day for the past 2 years, I’ve done a daily practice with others virtually. Here’s how it works. I call the others on the phone, then one of us rings a bell to start and then again at the end, after 30 minutes. When we’re done, we each wish each other a wonderful day and go about our business.

During the 30 minutes, we each do our own practice. Sometimes I do all mindfulness meditation, sometimes I add in some meridian tapping and at times I’ve done some energy work on myself during the half hour. I always state my intention for who I want to be as the day unfolds.

Having this daily practice has probably been the most significant factor in helping me be my best. I never would have stuck with it so consistently if others hadn’t been involved. Just knowing others were waiting for my call each day made all the difference. We’ve been going for 2 years now and I can really see how it’s changed me.

Here’s what I notice: *Instead of helping me -get away from it all’, my practice helps me to show up for it all. I’m clearer about who I am, so I’m not so rocked by the world and others. I can let WAY more of life in and just BE with situations that before would have been very stressful or difficult.

*It gives me a daily reminder of a bigger picture of myself and who I am as a spiritual being. Instead of reacting like a pinball machine to things in my life, I actually feel as if I have choices.

*I feel healthier than ever. No colds or flu this year….

* Since I review my intentions every day, I am much more likely to act in congruence with them during the day after this reminder.

Having a daily practice has been very rich and rewarding and I heartily encourage people to design one for themselves and then create the support to make it happen.

Integrated Hospital Complex — A New Concept In Medical Tourism

One of the things I worry about when a foreign patient comes to town is accommodation.
Singapore offers a wide variety of accommodation types to suit different budgets, needs and preferences. These range from budget and boutique hotels, to 6 stars hotels and fully furnished serviced apartments in good locations.

The hospital next door has 11 operating theatres, three day surgery units with 60 attached beds, an intensive care unit with 23 beds, radiotherapy unit, clinical laboratories and a full-service pharmacy.

Connected to the hospital is the hotel and guests have a choice of standard hotel rooms, serviced apartments and villas. All accommodations feature large bathrooms with rain showers, bay windows presenting floor to ceiling view.
The hotel is designed to offer a lush tropical garden ambience, with large spas, gymnasiums, six pools, ballroom, banquet hall, seminar and conference rooms, and a floor dedicated to retail food and beverage outlets.

A patient can check into the hotel in the morning and walks over to the medical centre to consult the doctor. Then he goes for lunch in one of the many restaurants and proceeds to do some investigative tests in the afternoon. He returns to the hotel a few steps away, does some window shopping in the evening after which he has the pleasure of a good massage in the spa. The next day he goes to the hospital next door for surgery and returns to the hotel to recuperate. All these activities are done in the same medical complex without leaving the building.

Family members and companions can stay in the same hotel, and enjoy the comfort and convenience of world-class facilities and at the same time provide emotional and physical support to the patient. This is healthcare and wellness at its best.

Meditation And Meditation Music

First, I’m seriously wired by nature and am not someone who can stop thinking. I have learned to meditate very effectively once I learned some facts about real meditation.

Problem one is thinking that you can’t meditate, or it’s not real meditation if you have thoughts going through your head. You do NOT have to stop thinking, or empty your mind of thoughts…that will happen ON ITS OWN if you meditate correctly.

If you’re closed-minded, your ability to reach deep states of meditation, or spiritual connectedness, is restricted. This is the way we are designed…scientifically. Meditation at its core, is meant to slow down brain waves, whether you know it or not. It’s just like you may know how to drive a car, but have no clue what’s going on mechanically. People will meditate for relaxation, healing, spiritual connection, communication, access to the infinite field of consciousness…whatever your reason, it is all only attainable directly as a result of slowing your brain waves to a certain frequency range.

The four major brainwave states/frequencies are: Beta, Alpha, Theta, and Delta in that order. More info is available on the specific states via the link in my bio. Meditation is mainly attempting to bring the brain to the Theta and Delta states. This is where everything happens: the connection, communication, healing, access to the quantum field of consciousness. So the point is to slow your brain waves.

You do need time, especially if you don’t use tools to help you. It’s just like trying to relax, except much deeper. You need time to relax…and you can also use music or other tools to help you. Meditation music was what I found to be the most helpful for me. Real meditation music…like with binaural beats. The music is specially made to influence your brain to slow down…to chill out.

Watch on things that raise the rate of your brain waves, like certain colors. Red, for example is a very high rate of vibration. Deep blue is among the slowest. I recommend keeping your eyes shut the whole time.

Most of the meditation music that I bought, was effective, but very long. I decided to make my own music which is made to bring the brain waves from Beta to low Alpha in less than 6 minutes, and then another music track that goes from low Alpha to low Theta in less than 6 minutes again.
